Jared passed away October 10th.  He was a great friend/puppy/companion to those who knew him.  May light perpetual shine upon him.  I told him in his last minutes to keep his ears open so that when I cross the “bridge” and whistle, he will come running to meet me bringing along all the other departed fuzzy friends with him.

On October 22, Connor and I went to Birmingham to find him a brother to adopt.  He chose a beautiful red Greyhound male named PH Roofie…now named Brodie.  Brodie is a bit on the shy side but has come out of his shell quite rapidly.  He is learning a lot about home and retirement life.  He and Connor are getting along quite well.

A new companion has come into my life.  He has been a delight and a joy.  He is a blessing from God.  I am indeed amazed at the hand of God.

I’ve been working on a few episodes of the Thom Takes On The World podcast so hang in there.  I’ll have to catch you up better in the next episode.  It may be a bit longer than normal but hopefully you will enjoy it nonetheless.

iphone-appsI finally was able to upload this episode.  I first mistakenly announce that it is episode 039 instead of episode 040.  Who’d think that I would make a mistake?  LOL

I chat about my week and the busy one that it was.

I also speak about my Greyhounds and how there are doing.  Are you surprised about that?  LOL

I then talk about the applications that I like on my iPhone.  I let you listen in on some of the sounds that they make.  Most of my applications are FREE!

Please send me your MP3 Files for my Anniversary Episode.  I am sure that you will want to be in the competition to win the Nashville Mug that I have for the one who sends in the most entertaining greeting.  For you podcasters out there, please feel free to give your contact information within your greeting.  Just remember, I have a CLEAN podcast.

That’s it for now.  I’m ready to hit the hay.  It’s been a rough day!

pic-0179I know that this picture is not the clearest picture that I could have posted on here, however, I do plan on posting a short edited version of the footage that I took today at the Greyhound Gathering in Murfreesboro, Tennessee.  In this episode I talk about this event as well as chatting about my vacation plans and how to leave a comment on iTunes.  I do appreciate you for reading this blog and for subscribing to my podcast.  Please feel free to leave me your comments here on my blog or by sending an e-mail to me at: Thom@ThomTakesOnTheWorld.com.

Take care of one another and yourself as well!

mountrushmoreIn this new episode I give an update on my Greyhounds and discuss Presidents Day.  By the way, how should we celebrate Presidents Day?  I ask this question and give you a brief reason why I am such a patriot.  I know it’s been a while since I created an episode.  I am looking forward to the upcoming Greyhound Gathering.

I will be looking forward to using the new microphone and pre-amp that Nick Thomas gave me.  I do appreciate his generosity.  Perhaps the next episode will be better sounding than this one.  We will see.

Please feel free to leave a comment or send me an e-mail.

Keep you eyes and ears open, because I’ll be out there!

Thank you for listening and reading.

Connor, aka PTL Brett, is the winner in this contest…and I think that he knows it.  He has gotten used to living in a house rather quickly.  He always lived at the dog track so understanding stairs, carpet, and windows are all new to him.  He has done quite well.  Jared has taken to him and has showed him our routine like an older brother should.  I have found out that Connor’s father, Brett Lee, is the world’s fastest Greyhound!  Look him up on www.YouTube.com and you will find several videos of just how fast his father was on the track.  I guess that is where Connor gets his need for speed comes from.  Connor was an awesome speedster on the track…winning a great number of races in his career.

Thanks to those 33 folks who voted in the poll.  It was a good poll and I will be posting another one soon.  I will also be creating another episode to my podcast, “Thom Takes On The World”, later on in this week.  There seems to be a larger number of downloads to my little podcast for some reason.  I guess the word is getting out about it.  I guess soon I will not be able to call it  my “little podcast” anymore.  I am hoping to have 1,000 downloads before my one year anniversary (May 26, 2009).  We’ll see if that comes true or not.  I’m not out to reap in numbers, but it is kind of fun to see how many out there are downloading TTOTW.

Well…I guess that I will end it here for now.  I appreciate all of the kind comments and e-mails from everyone.  Feel free to contact me by using my e-mail address: Thom@ThomTakesOnTheWorld.com.  It’s always cool to hear from you.

Keep your eyes and ears open because I’ll be out there!

pic-01701In this new episode, I talk about going down to Birmingham with Jared to visit Nick Thomas and to go to the Birmingham Race Course to adopt a “brother” for Jared.  I also chat briefly about the Super Bowl and what a game it was!  I hope that you enjoy this episode, though it is a bit longer than normal.  Thank you for the e-mails and comments!  They are appreciated.
