Connor, aka PTL Brett, is the winner in this contest…and I think that he knows it.  He has gotten used to living in a house rather quickly.  He always lived at the dog track so understanding stairs, carpet, and windows are all new to him.  He has done quite well.  Jared has taken to him and has showed him our routine like an older brother should.  I have found out that Connor’s father, Brett Lee, is the world’s fastest Greyhound!  Look him up on www.YouTube.com and you will find several videos of just how fast his father was on the track.  I guess that is where Connor gets his need for speed comes from.  Connor was an awesome speedster on the track…winning a great number of races in his career.

Thanks to those 33 folks who voted in the poll.  It was a good poll and I will be posting another one soon.  I will also be creating another episode to my podcast, “Thom Takes On The World”, later on in this week.  There seems to be a larger number of downloads to my little podcast for some reason.  I guess the word is getting out about it.  I guess soon I will not be able to call it  my “little podcast” anymore.  I am hoping to have 1,000 downloads before my one year anniversary (May 26, 2009).  We’ll see if that comes true or not.  I’m not out to reap in numbers, but it is kind of fun to see how many out there are downloading TTOTW.

Well…I guess that I will end it here for now.  I appreciate all of the kind comments and e-mails from everyone.  Feel free to contact me by using my e-mail address: Thom@ThomTakesOnTheWorld.com.  It’s always cool to hear from you.

Keep your eyes and ears open because I’ll be out there!

I briefly revisit my last episode’s topic, “Honesty” to give clarification before chatting about my favorite car: The Delorean Motor Car. Please feel free to leave me a comment here on my blog regarding my episode and also I would encourage you to leave me a five star rating on iTunes. I only have two reviews so I would like to see more on iTunes.

I’ll post again sometime on Saturday regarding the Drum Corps Show at Middle Tennessee State University from Friday night.

No…I have not found the “Love of my life” as of yet. I will keep you informed about that…perhaps! What I wanted to blog about today is the love that we should have for our friends.

I have been surprised lately by the love that I have recieved from those of you who have been there to encourage me as I have been going through a tough emotional time. Some of you have never met me. You have, nonetheless, sent me caring thoughts and words that have encouraged me to push through to brighter days. Just thinking of you and what you have done makes me well up with tears from the love that I feel from you. I am indeed grateful to you and hope that you feel that I have been there for you as well.

Well…coming soon is Valentine’s Day. A day when lovers exchange presents to express how much they love eachother. I don’t have a special person in my life to do that with. That’s all right for now. I am content to be a single fella in this big world. I do have a longing to be a friend and to have friends though. I know that will happen at the right time. Until then, I have you cyber friends to exhange cheerful greetings.

May you have a great Valentine’s Day with the one that you love. If you don’t have anyone, like me, then I hope that you spend it feeling love from your friends…and me too! I hope that you consider me a friend.

Your Nashville Friend,

Thom
