tiny-plastic-people-17In this new episode, I speak about how we all get good news and bad news.  Most of the time the bad news come first, but it is the good news that comes second.  It is the good news that is sometimes hard to find but it is out there if you think long enough.  I talk about that in this episode in hopes that if you are going through  a time of “bad news” I hope that you will be able to find the good news to help you through your difficult times.

There is a reason why I chose this picture to go with this podcast episode.  Even though there is a small guy mowing your beard…which is a scary thought…the good news is that when you wake up you won’t have to shave.  I just hope that the blade is at a level where it does not cut lower than you want it to…if you know what I mean…!  Ouch!

Thank you for stopping by.

Your Nashville Friend,

Thom

Hello My Favorite Nashville Friend Thom!

I am glad that you are getting help with your hearing loss! I hope that your hearing aids will make your hearing a lot clearer! I am glad that you are taking better care of yourself! I am glad that you are feeling so well Thom! I love your podcast of TTOTW! Take Care My Nashville Friend! From your Little Penquin Friend!

Hey Thom…so sorry to hear about your hearing loss. I hope your insurance will eventually pay for the hearing aids. It should be covered…that sucks! Fight them on it, I would. Take care!

This one has to much bass or low end. Are you using the new mic or that old usb mic? Maybe you have the EQ adjusted such that your voice is bassy sounding. And “NO” I do not need to get my hearing checked. Buy a set of binaural in ear mics from Sounds Professional. You’ll be able to hear great with these cool microphones. Of course you’ll need a Zoom H2 or some such device to amplify the sound. This way you’ll not only be able to hear better; you’ll also be able to do field recordings. I bet you would put out some killer remote podcasts with a portable recorder. Oh, I hear “hear” Apple’s new 3.0 iPhone software will have a recorder as a feature in the new software which will be a free download for your iPhone later this month. Check it out. ALSO, the new iPhones make me wanna take the plunge. Maybe I can get my bosses to change my business phone to the new iPhone 3G “S” when it comes out later this month. Hope your better.

A thought? You think being in the band in High School had something to do with your hearing loss. I have a noticeable ringing in the ear which has not gone away after conquering caffeine. I doubt I’ll be able to eliminate the ringing in my ear. As long as I can hear music and not shout when I communicate with people I’ll be happy. My dad had a hearing loss and he compensated by talking louder. My boss has a hearing loss and sounds like he’s shouting to anyone he talks to on the phone. People have asked when he calls me why he yells at me over the phone cause they can hear him!

Oh, Archer! “Sorry to HEAR about your hearing loss”. So insensitive! LOL. Kidding! Hey Thom, that sucks ass about he hearing. Weegie and I both have hearing loss as well and imagine it won’t be long before we are hearing aid bound as well. I am afraid I won’t be able to listen to music in my later years. It is such a part of my existence. Hang in there and looking forward to your next show! Big hugs!

Thom, so sorry to hear about your hearing loss, and about your crappy insurance that doesn’t cover hearing aids. I thought we govt employees were supposed to have the best insurance around. I guess even the best insurance is not what it uses to be.

You are still my hero, the way you handle all the things that have come your way, with such grace and courage. Some day, when I grow up, I want to be just like you.

  7. Ramble Redhead Says:

I’m sorry about your hearing loss as with everyone but I am proud of your attitude in regards to this. Many people don’t want to accept when things happen to them and put it off. I used to work with people who were visually impaired and it was amazing how many of them waited too long before they got help! I am glad you went right away and will have them soon. I have a hearing loss as well and I don’t need hearing aids yet but I am sure I will in the future.

    Keep up the great work

    hugs

    Tom
