I’m planning on having a few friends over for the evening. We are going to watch Dick Clark’s Rocking New Year’s Eve. We just want to have a good time of eating, drinking, celebrating, and hopefully staying awake enough to watch the ball in New York City drop in Times Square.
What are you plans?
Happy New Year!!!

I just want to wish everyone a VERY MERRY CHRISTMAS!
I hope that you will be experiencing lots of love, fun, and joy on this Christmas Day. I know that some of you may not have the chance to be with friends or family on Christmas, however, you are NOT forgotten. I hope that in some way shape or form that you will feel loved and encouragement on this special day.
Thanks to those who shared their plans for Christmas on the comment section of the last posting. My parents are here and we are having a great time. They are such a blessing to me that I don’t care if I get anything else but their presence each year during Christmas. They live in New Jersey so I do appreciate the extra effort it takes them to come down to Nashville, Tennessee to spend this week with me.
Hugs to you and your loved ones as we celebrate the Birth of Christ!

Well, I am so very excited to host my parents starting tomorrow evening at my house for Christmas. I look back and remember how special that my parents made each Christmas. They decorated, baked, and sacrificed so much for their boys that now I want to return the favor each year.
As I mentioned, I decorated the outside and inside of my house. I went shopping for the right foods for them. I will be driving them all over Nashville to look at the Christmas lights and decorations as well. I will cook for them as well. Perhaps they will enjoy just spending some time with me. They are the greatest parents.
I hope that you will be ready for the holidays. The best way to be ready is to give…of your time, of your talent, and of your love. All the rest is secondary.
What plans do you have for Christmas? Let me know. Thanks.

It seems like people are rushing here there and everywhere getting ready for all the events during this time of year. There are gifts to be purchased, food to be bought, and packages to be mailed. I believe that it is impossible to see people clearly during this time because they are rushing so quickly around that all one can see is a blur.
I do hope that you can slow down long enough to actually enjoy as many moments of the season that you can. There are beautifully decorated trees, colorful lights, choirs singing, and children with a look of anticipation in their eyes. There are the tastes of peppermint candy canes and chocolate candies, scents of pine trees and warm cider, and the sounds of choirs and cheerful greetings of the season.
I cannot afford to give you a gift this year other than jotting things on this blog from time to time. Perhaps you can sense the joy that I have for the season and I hope that you can pass it on as well. It can be contagious.
I’ll try to keep up the blogging during the next few weeks even if it is a few lines here and there. Take things easy. Spread the cheer.

I first want to say thanks for those who took place to those who have voted in the poll regarding decorating for Christmas. It seems like most did not decorate for Christmas this year. Please feel free to vote in this new poll that I have posted. I just do it for fun.
It seems like everyone comes “out of the woodwork” to hit you up for money during this time of year. Is it because they know that it is near the end of the year and you are looking for a good tax write off or is it because your heart is tender because of the Christmas Story? I wonder about that sometimes. I tend to give to “charities” that are visible year-round and just don’t appear during this time of year. I also check into what they do with their money to make sure that the large amount of money goes to helping people and not to the staff.
The reason why I give is because I think it is the right thing to do. I don’t do it to get people off of my back or to make me look good to folks. I don’t do it to get a tax write off either. I like helping others. Who knows? I just may need to ask for some help sometime.
I do hope that you will consider helping out a charity of your choice this year.
I’ll be writing again soon. I always like hearing from each one of you. Take a moment and leave your comment. Thanks!
